About Doug Walker

Doug Walker is a true Los Angeles native. Growing up in a family with strong ties to the film business, Walker spent the better part of his childhood in and around film sets, award winning actors, producers and directors. At the age of 11 he fell into acting where he thrived for 6 years, where he spent more time in casting sessions than he did in school. At 17 Doug was ready for a change and decided he wanted to be behind the camera, making films and commercials, rather than starring in them. He found this opportunity working with legendary Film editor Steve McCoy who brought him into the fold at Filmcore Editorial. This is where Doug discovered his natural talent of storytelling and film editing. An accomplished editor by 19 Doug has garnered several Clio’s, AICP awards and Cannes Lions for his work as a commercial editor. Since launching as a Director in 2006 with a compelling resume of Documentary and visual storytelling work, Doug has created a consistent body of work that is distinctive and very natural. He tells documentary stories in a poignant and memorable way, with a quality that resonates in his commercial work. His spots for Nike, U.S Cellular, NCAA and and Audi all reveal honesty and soulfulness rarely seen in commercials. Doug’s surf documentary "Lost and Found" tells the stories of history's most famous and infamous surf legends through the discovery of over 30,000 film negatives. His film RHAGS was chosen for Special Screening Program at the 2011 Slamdance film festival in Park City, UT. This film chronicled the life of artist and composer Roy Alexander Grover. Doug lives in Marin County with his lovely wife Beth and two children Lauren and Merritt. His dog ‘Echo’ is his loyal assistant while he’s busy editing and filming.
